  1. TC, I can remember exactly who got their arm caught in the wringers of my mom’s washer. It was my kid brother. I had to hit the release so he could get his arm out. Scared him to death. He was the broken bone kid. Thought it was then. Nope. Lucky. He has had plenty of broken bones in his younger yrs.

  2. Ms. Lola: That barn was where I learnt how to strip tobacco; it’s also where the screech owl lived that produced such a fright in us kids when we first heard its call in the night. Ms. Tina: That old mailbox was in the barn, we wouldn’t have found it had we not explored the inside of that old barn.W2W: Yes, Tucker Holler was home for over 20 years. Many acts, and an untold number of scenes. Ms. Fern: It was all I could do not to write more. I think it was the memories those photos still hold. Ms. Sherry: There’s a creek that runs alongside that old barn, wading it with my girlfriend when I was 15 was more than just relaxing. ;~)Ms. Marnie: I was trying to remember which of my sisters got their arm caught in the ringer. It was so long ago that it’s mostly a blurred image right now. It must not have been that serious or I’m sure I would’ve been traumatized.

  3. My Mom had one of those washers too. When she got a modern one, she was happy to see the old one go;)BTW, I think you are right about the Rising Sun lyrics. Wickapedia says a version was collected by Alan Lomax somewhere in KY. That would make it way, way before Dylan.Marnie

  4. It’s been a while since I have seen a wringer washer or an address like that one. Is this a scene from the old homestead? Very moving, and I really mean it.
